Recent Earthquake in the Philippines

On March 20, 2008 at past 10:00 PM local time, DavaoeƱos felt the swaying and banging of things in the area affected by the earthquake. The earthquake lasted for about 4 minutes in my place (somewhere in Compostela Valley Province – a province of GOLD). I was so worried about the quake because I am pretty sure that the quake was expected to be strong in Davao City, in which I am away from home and I am so worried about the status of my things inside my house. With all those anxiety and imagination, I am so interested to know the source of the earthquake. So, I did verification and it was confirmed that the earthquake source was at the Pacific Ocean near Mindanao Island particularly nearest to Manay, Davao Oriental Province, Philippines, based on the report of the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The magnitude of the earthquake was estimated at 6.0.

For more information about the detailed reports, it can be found at USGS website.
